  • Risk Transmission and Hedging Strategies Between Climate Risk and Carbon Assets

    Wu Shan;Li Yameng;Nanjing University of Finance & Economics;

    Against the backdrop of China's “Dual Carbon” strategy, the rapid transformation of China's energy structure is driving the need for structural adjustments in its carbon assets. Investigating the volatility spillovers between climate risks and carbon assets is therefore crucial for optimizing asset allocation, enhancing the green financial system, and mitigating cross-market risk contagion. Using a refined time-varying parameter vector autoregression(TVP-VAR) model, we analyze their time-varying spillover effects on high-carbon(WTI crude oil futures) and low-carbon(the NASDAQ Clean Edge Green Energy Index [CELS]) assets. Our results reveal a significant bidirectional spillover relationship between climate risks and carbon assets. Statistically, the climate risks serve as the primary net transmitter of spillovers to both crude oil and the clean energy index. Dynamically, the influence of transition risk on low-carbon assets amplifies markedly during specific episodes, highlighting its acute sensitivity to policy and market signals. A key finding is the considerable hedging capacity of the CELS, which exhibits a 43.6% hedging efficiency against systemic risk in high-carbon assets, an effect that becomes particularly pronounced during periods of intensive policy implementation. This research provides a quantitative basis for investors to design “carbon quota and green bond” portfolios, and for regulators to develop a cross-market early warning mechanism for climate risks.

  • The Impact of Digital–Real Economy Integration on Urban Green and Low-Carbon Transformation: Spatial Effects and Mechanism Analysis

    Li Jing;Zhang Hui;Han Qing;China Agricultural University;Nanjing Forestry University;

    This study employs panel data from 284 Chinese cities(2011–2023) to investigate the impact of digital–real economy integration on urban green and low-carbon transformation. The empirical analysis reveals a distinct east–west gradient in both integration and transformation levels, with eastern cities leading the trend, alongside a consistent nationwide increase. We find that digital–real economy integration significantly advances urban green and low-carbon development and generates positive spatial spillover effects. Mechanism analyses show that integration facilitates this transformation by enhancing factor allocation efficiency, improving energy utilization efficiency, and upgrading the industrial structure. The effects are more pronounced in eastern cities, non-old industrial bases, and resource-dependent cities. Policy implications include formulating digital strategies to spur industrial upgrading, investing in technology and talent, promoting clean energy, and supporting green industries to foster high-quality, low-carbon urban development.

  • The Integration of the Four Chains in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone: Measurement and Pathways for Enhancement

    Zhang Xia;Liu Yu;Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences;

    Promoting the deep integration of the innovation, industrial, capital, and talent chains is of great significance to driving high-quality economic and social development. Using the entropy method, a coupling coordination degree model, and a grey relational model, we measure the integration level and subsystem interactions within the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone from 2019 to 2023. The findings indicate a generally positive trajectory and gradual improvement in overall integration, making a transition from early-stage factor accumulation to deep inter-chain synergy. However, development across the chains remains uneven. Although the talent and innovation chains show relative strength, the innovation chain has weak spillover effects on the industrial chain, with low technological conversion efficiency. The underdeveloped industrial chain further limits overall synergy. Synergistic effects are gradually emerging, but coordination barriers persist. To address these challenges, we recommend optimizing policies for the integration of the four chains, accelerating the conversion of innovations into industrial applications, strengthening alignment between capital and the industrial chain, and enhancing mechanisms for talent attraction and development. These measures are essential for fostering deeper regional integration of the four chains and optimizing the overall development framework.

  • Research on the Cultural Dimensional Elevation Path for International Communication of China's Fine Traditional Culture Based on Micro-Short Dramas

    Chen Shi;Suo Lanjie;Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences *;Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences;

    Micro-short dramas have created a context for the international communication of China's fine traditional culture, addressing “what to say,” “how to say it,” and “why to say it.” However, a systematic path for international cultural communication has yet to be established. By taking microshort dramas as a medium and drawing on a three-tier cultural dimensional elevation model of “symbol cognition—narrative circulation—cultural identity,” this paper explores the natural internalization process from symbol cognition to cultural identity among audiences during the international communication of China's fine traditional culture. Research shows that micro-short dramas have established a cultural cognitive interface for international audiences through the innovative use of symbols related to China's fine traditional culture. The use of internet-based narratives has enabled cross-contextual reinterpretation and emotional resonance of China's fine traditional culture. Furthermore, integration and reconstruction have facilitated cultural identity among international audiences regarding China's fine traditional culture. The interplay of these three aspects forms a three-tier path for cultural dimensional elevation in the international communication of China's fine traditional culture through micro-short dramas. This path can effectively reduce cultural discount and contribute to the paradigm shift of China's fine traditional culture from geographical expansion to cultural identity.

  • Artifact Classification in Archaeology of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties: A Case Study Based on Artifacts From the Warring States Tomb at Majia Town

    Ran Honglin;Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology;

    A review of previous archaeological studies on the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties reveals that the classification of artifacts has largely relied on researchers' subjective judgments. This phenomenon is limited by both objective conditions and the researchers' subjective understanding. By analyzing bronzes excavated from a Warring States tomb at Majia town, Xindu district, Chengdu, located in southwestern China's Sichuan province, this study attempts to develop a more objective methodological framework through three steps:(a) identifying representative examples with wellpreserved artifacts and primary contexts;(b) establishing classification criteria based on artifact forms, quantities, spatial arrangements, and anomalies; and(c) testing these criteria against a broader range of archaeological materials.

  • Research on the Mechanism Through Which the Classroom Environment Drives the Innovative Behavior of Medical Students:An Empirical Study Based on Medical Colleges in Sichuan Province

    Li Chengxue;Zhang Hongying;Chengdu Medical College;Xi'an Jiaotong University;

    To explore the mechanism through which the classroom environment influences the innovative behavior of medical students, this research paper used a sample of 1,019 medical students from four medical colleges in Sichuan province. The paper then constructed and tested an integrated model that employs classroom environment as the independent variable, innovative behavior as the dependent variable, creative self-efficacy as the mediator variable, and teachers' emotional support as the moderator variable. The results show that the classroom environment and its six dimensions are all significantly and positively correlated with innovative behavior and can also significantly and positively predict it; creative self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between the classroom environment and innovative behavior; the emotional support of teachers positively moderates the influence of three types of teacher-led environments—the teacher-student relationship, the teaching method, and equal attention—on medical students' innovative behavior. The research findings have deepened the understanding of the mechanism that underlies the innovative behavior of medical students and highlight the importance of psychological empowerment and contextualized support in the cultivation of innovative talents in medical education.

  • Research on the Reform of Approaches to Early Childhood Character Education

    Li Longqing;Liu Jialing;Experimental Kindergarten Affiliated to Sichuan Institute of Education Science;

    Early childhood character education is a critical element in shaping an individual's moral foundation and fostering a sense of social responsibility. It plays a fundamental role in overall personal development. Although China's early childhood character education has made progress with the support of policies and practical exploration, it still faces challenges such as the homogenization of educational models, a formalization of home-kindergarten cooperation, a single-dimensional evaluation system, and a need for further improvement in teachers' professional competence in character education. This paper draws on core theories of character education(e.g., social learning theory and cognitive moral development theory) and incorporates representative case studies to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current landscape and associated challenges. It proposes innovative approaches, which include establishing a “threefold” system of implementation, enhancing the mechanisms for home-kindergarten co-education, optimizing and ensuring a multidimensional and dynamic evaluation system, equitably allocating teaching resources, and expanding the social support networks. The aim is to offer theoretical reference and practical solutions to promote the scientific and systematic development of early childhood character education.

  • Digital Context: Social Foundation and Technological Adaptation of Digital Rural Governance

    Ding Bo;Anhui University;

    Digital rural governance is a micro-level governance practice within the broader framework of building a Digital China. It involves the integration of digital technology into rural governance to drive the digital transformation of rural governance. In recognition of the varied development stages of digital rural governance, the concept of “digital context” provides an analytical lens for exploring the differences in practical models of digital rural governance. By examining the contextual characteristics and differential mechanisms of digital rural governance, this paper delves into its social foundation and technological adaptation. The research finds that the context of digital rural governance primarily encompasses three dimensions: contextual foundation, contextual logic, and contextual optimization. First, the contextual foundation of digital rural governance manifests as the social basis, comprising the social structure of villages, the type of village development, and the age structure of villagers, which constitute the social stratification forms underlying digital rural governance. Second, the contextual logic of digital rural governance focuses on the adaptation of digital technology to rural governance, promoting the adaptation of digital technology to the rural governance foundation, village governance scenarios, and villagers' digital capabilities. Third, the contextual optimization of digital rural governance emphasizes integrating digital technology with both administrative and livelihood-oriented governance affairs at the village level. This approach leverages the governance value and functional potential of digital technology to streamline digital governance processes and enhance digital governance capabilities. As a developmental direction for the transformation of rural governance, digital rural governance must not only highlight the governance advantages of digital technology but also prioritize the inherent context of rural governance. It aims to enhance the effectiveness of rural governance through digital technology and advance high-quality digital village development tailored to local conditions.

  • Theoretical Logic and Practical Paths for Promoting Chinese Modernization Through High-Quality Integrated Urban-Rural Development

    Li Yongsheng;Xu Xialin;Xu Zheng;Xi'an Jiaotong University;Party School of the CPC Jiangsu Committee;

    Integrated urban-rural development is an inevitable choice for promoting Chinese modernization. High-quality integrated urban-rural development is essentially a practical response to the current multi-factor and multi-sectoral challenges in urban-rural relations, and plays an important role in implementing the new development philosophy, which promotes Chinese modernization. The theoretical logic supporting the function it plays in enabling Chinese modernization lies in the following aspects: it leverages the free flow of population and resources between urban and rural areas and thus facilitates the balanced development of China's modernization; it advances the common prosperity of all people through its new type of urban-rural and industrial-agricultural relations; it fosters the coordinated development of the material and spiritual civilizations through the integration of urban and rural cultures; it promotes steering the modernization toward green development through the joint building and managing of the overall urban-rural ecosystem; and it drives modernization in a harmonious and stable direction through integrated urban-rural development. Currently, integrated urban-rural development still faces challenges such as restrictions on the two-way flow of factors, the low efficiency of industrial coordination and support, unequal access to public service facilities, and the insufficient use of land. Therefore, based on the strategic framework of urban-rural integrated development, it is necessary to continuously promote Chinese modernization through high-quality integrated urban-rural development from the perspectives of deepening institutional coordination, expanding the application of digital intelligence in urban and rural industries, optimizing public services, and improving land management.
